National Trust
The National Trust manages a number of heritage properties throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Britain. It is responsible for maintaining and restoring properties that are a part of our heritage.
Visiting these properties provides a unique experience, allowing you to step back in time and experience what it would be like living in that era. It is not just the property that has been kept in a time box; many of the original contents are on display throughout the various properties.
The types of properties managed by the National Trust include houses built in the 1800’s, telegraph stations, courthouses, mills, churches, and schools. The National Trust manages 35 properties in Western Australia and each one of them reflects the unique history of the State.
For more information about the fascinating heritage places you can visit in WA please visit the National Trust website.
The National Trust also manages the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail; which is a fascinating self drive tour, following the pipeline designed by CY O’Connor. As you leave the Mundaring Weir and head for the dry lands of Kalgoorlie, a number of historic points and references are covered along the Heritage Trail.
If you’re a bit of a history buff, or just love to visit heritage places occasionally, then you may be interested in membership with the National Trust. Membership provides entry into all National Trust properties in Australia, New Zealand, and Britain; which is fantastic value. You will also be helping to preserve Western Australia’s heritage.
