Beer Connoisseur's Guide

Bush Shack Brewery The historic Brewery is primely located on Perth's stunning Swan River

Beer drinkers have for too long had an unruly image but now beer is the new wine. It’s classy, posh and cultured. So throw away that stubby holder and find the perfect beer to match your meal.

Just as menus used to be designed around wines, they are now being designed to match beer as well. There are a immense variety of beers; matching meals from seafood entrees and curries to poached pears and rich mousse desserts.

Beer flavours range from light and crisp with hints of banana and clove notes to full body with chocolate highlights and well rounded finishes.

In the same way that different wine glasses accentuate different tastes, so to do different beer glasses. Flutes accentuate the sweetness in beers (popular for feminine tastes) and balloon glasses bring out the hoppy bitterness (popular for masculine tastes).

So where can you go to tantalise your beer tastebuds?
