Eagle Bluff

Denham's landmark
Add To Itinerary

Eagle Bluff is located twenty kilometres south of Denham, with panoramic views of the Bay. Eagle Bluff takes its name from the osprey which nest just offshore on the Rock Island. There is a twenty metre boardwalk with viewing platforms along the edge of the cliff that enable visitors to safely enjoy the views of the diverse landscapes and marine life. In this area lives a large population of Dugongs; they can be seen in the summer months, where they approach the shore to feed on the sea grass area.

For history buffs - This is the area in which Captain Denham carved an inscription in a rock from which the town derives its name. The rock since weathered and fell from Eagle Bluff, so was brought into Denham and placed in Pioneer Park..
