Old Water Wheel

Add To Itinerary

This old "Water Wheel" was originally built to pump water from the local spring to the houses of the lighthouse keepers.

The wheel operated for many years until it was replaced by a diesel engine.

Over the past fifty years, the wheel has gathered moss from the continuous trickling water, giving it it's majestic beauty and the appearance of ancient stonework.
