Situated 50 kilometers north of Perth, Yanchep is dominated by the Indian Ocean to the west and Yanchep National Park to the east.Yanchep is rapidly becoming a popular tourist destination, providing safe beaches, good fishing areas and natural attractions.

Yanchep is probably best known for its series of caves and the Yanchep National Park. The name Yanchep comes from the aboriginal word 'Yanjet' meaning bullrushes, a feature of the area.
