With York being the first inland town in Western Australia, there were many problems with the white settlers, the aborigines and the convicts; therefore a strong police presence was needed.
This complex consists of the main law court, an older court room, prison cell block, including a holding cell with ball and chain, stables with carriage display, prisoners exercise yard and a troopers cottage.
