Jaburara Heritage Trail
The Jaburara Heritage Trail booklet is available from the Karratha Community Library or the Karratha Tourist Information Centre.
This fascinating trail is a 3.5 kilometre walk detailing the natural history and cultural heritage of it traditional inhabitants, the Jaburara Aboriginal Tribe. The trail highlights the tribes culture and lifestyle, the impacts of the white settlement since the 1860's, and the effects of the resources boom from the early 1960's.
Displaying magnificent Aboriginal rock engravings and artifacts scatters amongst the rugged country; the Jaburara's steep climbs and descents are an amazing adventure.
The district offers two short branch trails and three longer branch trails; including a recreational trail, a nature trail, and an Aboriginal trail amongst the base of the hills.
